RhAG's new Development Officer has been in post since the beginning of May. Elin Maher is mother to three chldren, Rhys, Ioan and Efa and married to Aidan. She lives in Newport and is working from home.
Elin is originally from the Swansea Valley and Newport has been her home for five years. Said Elin, "It's an extremely exciting time in the field of Welsh medium education at the moment. People are facing a variety of problems in their different areas and I hope I will be able to find parents throughout Wales to take up the challenge and form new networks not only to ensure they get their children into Welsh medium but also that they receive the proper support throughout their school years."
Education provision is continually changing and the kind of support that parents need is changing as well. The hope of RhAG (Parents for Welsh Medium Education) is that the proper support is available throughout Wales, both at a local and national level.
