RhAG, the parents' organisation which campaigns for the creation of more Welsh medium schools, has launched a new logo to go with its new-look website.
Tim Pearce, Chairman of RhAG, said, "Our new logo incorporates a daffodil, the traditional Welsh symbol which we hope will create an impression of new growth, exactly what we're hoping for in Welsh medium schools. For too long now Welsh medium schools have been prevented from expanding even though the current provision is almost overflowing. This is against a background of generally falling rolls in English medium education. This failure to provide adequately for the Welsh medium sector can be attributed partly to the fact some local authorities are reluctant to face up to their responsibilities and partly to the Welsh Assembly Government's over eagerness to turn down applications by authorities to increase the provision. It's still March, as well - just about - so maybe St David's emblem is doubly appropriate!"
RhAG's website details the work of the organisation, the advantages of Welsh medium education for chikldren, how parents can help their children in Welsh medium schools and other useful information. You can visit the website at" www.rhag.net.
